CWM Shotgun Rules

Prime Rule

Any seat can be called by name. The names of the seats are as shown in the following vehicular diagram:
       =+-----------------\
        |Window Pilot \
(rear) |Hump Stick > (front)
        |Hassle Shotgun /
       =+-----------------/
The caller of a seat reserves the right to sit in that seat, with the following exceptions:

  1. If a person calls Pilot, but does not own the vehicle, the owner can override the call.

  2. If a person calls Stick but no one calls Shotgun, the Pilot has the power to force the Stick to Shotgun.

  3. A person may remove another's claim on a seat through a show of physical force. This is frowned upon by The Gods.

Back Seat Rule

When a person wishes to reserve any seat in back, a call "nugtohs" (pronounced NUG-Toss) may be used.

Shotgun By Default

Extremely tall people (over 6'5") get shotgun by default (except in the case of Prime Rule Exception 3).

Silent shotgun

A call of "shotgun" counts as long as there is at least one witness of the call. If no one else hears, it's their tough luck. This promotes a very quiet call of "shotgun" to the driver, leaving everyone else irate when they find they've been beaten to the punch.

Off Sides

As for when it's ok to first call shotgun, you can call it when you had arrived in the same "room" as the vehicle. (In this case, the enire outdoors counted as the same "room"). However, the instant you left the room in which you had called shotgun, it would no longer count.

Sneaky Bastard Rule (bonus)

You get extra credit if you work the call of "shotgun" cleverly into conversation. For instance:
"I want him to accidentally poke his eye out with a SHOTGUN!"
A riskier exchange might go as follows:
"Hey, James, guess what?"
"What?"
"Shotgun."
This has the ability to backfire dramatically:
"Hey, James, guess what?"
"Shotgun?"
